First of all, let me say thank you to those who have supported me over the last few years. You have truly given me back much more than I have given you. The whole intent of my book and this site was to offer hope and encouragement to others. It has grown to something bigger than I could have ever imagined. Some of the stories that you have shared with me are truly phenomenal. We just want you to pass it on to others.
What's in store for 2006?
I have been asked on more than one occasion, "What's in store for 2006?" In an effort to keep you updated on what is happening with me, I will try to do a better job of updating with race reports, photos, and goals that I am trying to achieve.
So what do I have going on as you're reading this? I am currently getting ready to shoot a commercial for Aerospoke rims, which will be a local ad that I will use on my website because I am a dealer for them now. I am now a member of FCA Endurance and I have agreed to video tape my testimony for the organization to use as they see fit. I am getting ready to shoot some video segments for BeginnerTriathlete.com and these segments will be part of a video project that I am working on for beginners. I have heard through the grapevine that there is a local TV show that wants to do an interview with me concerning what I have been able to accomplish. I have started a new company, BigShotEventPhoto.com that takes event photos. I have also been interviewed for a publication for Farmers Insurance and it is supposed to run nationally.
On the training front, I have spent a lot of time in the gym working out and increasing my core strength. I am stronger now than I have been since I started training for tri's. My bench is over 300lbs and I work out with a personal trainer once a week and on my own two other times. With the season starting, I will start working out twice a week. I have spent a lot of time in the pool and some time running and done a good bit of training on the elliptical trainer at the gym. Since August of '05 I have dropped 7 inches off my waist. I will be the first to admit that I have fallen off the wagon a couple of times since August, but I have been able to get back on fairly quickly. I completed 5 races with my son Christopher who is now 5 years old. This was his first race season and he completed the 1/2 mile courses and improved in each race.
What's on the Schedule this Year?
